Weredog

Weredogs are a race of canine shapeshifters found in Solefor, Terranevo, and other countries in the world of LUMINE.

Appearance[]

In their human forms, weredogs are just like regular people, but with canine characteristics, such as dog ears, tails, and feet that vaguely resemble paws. Much like actual dogs, their ears stick up when they are happy and flop down when they are sad. Similar to modern-day dog breeds, some weredogs have pointy ears while others have floppy ears.

In their feral forms, weredogs become ferocious, snarling canines with enhanced strength and speed. Certain weredogs transform into less frightening puppies instead due to a condition known as Lienh Syndrome.

Powers and Abilities[]

As their name suggests, weredogs' primary ability is to transform into large dogs, which enhances their physical capabilities. In their human forms, their speed, strength, agility, and resilience is noticeably above those of regular humans.

Variants[]

Werewolves[]

Werewolves are a subspecies of weredog that are much larger and powerful than normal weredogs. Because of this, werewolves were highly targeted by hunters and were believed to be driven to extinction. Werewolves closely resemble weredogs in appearance, with the only difference being their size, growing over twice as large as weredogs.

Werewolves with Lienh Syndrome[]

Lienh Syndrome is an uncommon condition known to affect werewolves. This condition is responsible for the diminutive, puppy-like form that appears upon transformation, and is preceded by a cloud of pink smoke upon transformation. Little is known about this condition except that it can be caused by many different factors, such as trauma, and can regress over time, allowing transformation into true werewolf form. However, it may recur from time to time. The change appears to be a mostly controlled one in Lumine's case, with him able to willingly shift between this 'puppy' form and werewolf or human form. Lienh Syndrome was first described in detail in episode 129 of the second season of LUMINE by Rue, the leader of the werewolf tribe in Terranevo. Currently, only two characters are known to have this condition: Lumine and Sophia, a girl in Rue's tribe.
